The fairylike Cathedral of the Intercession dominating Red Square in Moscow, Russia includes 10 churches, one of which honors St. Basil the Fool. The architectural style is described as "Old Russian Style" and there's no question how dazzling it is, it may even be the inspiration for Walt Disney's castle! Colorful and decorative smaller domes surround the central tower. The central design is topped with a traditional three barred Russian cross.
Each model of Saint Basil's Church is handmade of wood and -painted in Russia. The bottom is hand painted in a typical Slavic floral design. This type of work decorates wood bowls, platters and spoons, is loved by Russians and is often used as holiday ware. It is 8 x 4 1/4 inches and spins when the music plays. The music is a traditional Russian folk melody! A fun addition to a music model collection.
